Hosepipe Ban – Frequently Asked Questions
As a professional detailing company, ADT Detailing is committed to responsible water usage and full compliance with local regulations. With a hosepipe ban coming into effect, we want to keep you informed about how this impacts our services.
Is ADT Detailing affected by the hosepipe ban?
No, we are not directly affected.
Businesses that use water as part of their daily operations—such as vehicle detailing—are exempt from restrictions under hosepipe ban regulations. This exemption allows us to continue operating while still being mindful of water usage.
Where can I find more information about the hosepipe ban?
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please refer to your water supplier’s website. In our area, that is Thames Water:

Will this affect my existing booking or monthly maintenance plan?
Yes, but only slightly:
- For standard bookings, we will adjust our scheduling to reduce water consumption. This means avoiding washing vehicles during periods of intense heat or when no shade is available, as hotter panels require more frequent rinsing.
- Monthly maintenance will now be carried out exclusively at our workshop during the ban period. This allows us to monitor and control our water usage more effectively.
- In some cases, we may use rinse-less wash methods, but only when safe for your vehicle’s finish. This will be discussed during vehicle drop-off.
If you’d like to better understand how a rinse-less wash works, here’s a helpful video that explains the process:
Are there any other changes being made?
Yes. To help meet increased demand during this period, we are temporarily increasing the number of monthly maintenance slots.
Priority will be given to existing and disabled customers, though the new slots are open to all new enquiries as well.
When does the hosepipe ban begin?
The ban officially begins on 22nd July 2025 and will remain in place until further notice. However, we will begin implementing our internal adjustments from 18th July 2025 to ensure a smooth transition and continued compliance.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
